Parking

Parking on race day is easier than any other day. There's no need to deal with parking meters or permits. Parking is FREE on Sundays in Cherry Creek North, plus more than 6,000 parking spaces are available for free on the day of the race at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center garage. Allow at least one-half hour prior to your start time for parking and walking to the start line. Please view the MAP page for location information.

If you are arriving from the west, enter off Cherry Creek Drive North and park in the surface lots or proceed to the parking structure. If you are arriving from the east, please use Bayaud.

Please note: Due to the Sneak's course, if you park in the surface lots or west parking structure of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, you will not be able to leave the parking area after 9:15 a.m.

Parking is also available for FREE on Sundays on the surrounding streets, however streets closest to the race course may close by 7:30 a.m.

Post Race Party

All participants are invited to take part in Denver's best Post-Event Party. Pick up special offers and related sports information. Then proceed to the party where you'll enjoy live music, tackle a free climbing wall, ride the wild slide, sample various free products and visit with our sponsors. Adults won't want to miss the Budweiser Select beer garden offering complimentary beer to participants over age 21.

Strollers

Strollers and baby joggers are permitted in both the 5 Mile and 5K Run/Walk. For the safety of all participants at the Start Line, please begin the race at the back and side of the starting area to avoid injury and help manage traffic flow.

Awards

The top three finishers in every age group (five year increments, ages 14 through 65) in both the 5 Mile and 5K race will receive commemorative awards by mail following the event.

The school or organization with the largest number of student participants will receive the Governor's Cup Trophy for display through the 2009 Cherry Creek Sneak at their school. Each student from the winning school will also receive a commemorative keepsake.

Safety Reminders

Insurance restrictions require that dogs, roller and in-line skates, bicycles, skateboards and headphones be excluded from the event. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted in the 5 Mile and 5K Run/Walk. For the safety of all participants at the Start Line, please begin the race at the back and side of the starting area to avoid injury and help manage traffic flow.

Meeting/Lost and Found/Information

To enhance everyone's safety and enjoyment, we ask that you meet friends at the RED VOLUNTEER/INFORMATION TENT located at the Post-Race Party area after the finish line. Please do not meet your friends and family at the finish line of the walk or the run. This tent will also provide information about the event and will serve as the lost and found area for any lost children or personal items.

First-Aid Station

Located east of the finish line.

ChampionChip® Electronic Timing System

All Sneak participants will wear a small computer chip attached to the top of one shoe to accurately time and score racers. Your race results will be emailed to you directly following the race. In order to receive your results, you MUST provide an email address on the race registration form.

  • You must wear the chip at all times during the race
  • Use one cable tie – thread it around the barrel of the Chip and under a shoelace. Fasten it snugly so the Chip rests on the outside of either foot
  • You must run/walk over the mats at the race start and finish to receive race times. Do not cross the start or finish mats more than once.
  • The Chip must be returned to the Volunteers at the finish line who will assist you with its removal. Lost chips are the participant’s financial responsibility.
  • If you pick up a Chip and don’t race or don’t complete the race you MUST return the Chip to the race office or mail it with 60 cents postage to:

    Timberline Timing Systems, Inc.
    PO Box 609
    Fort Collins, CO 80522

  • Please wrap the Chip before inserting in an envelope – otherwise it will poke a hole in a thin envelope and be lost.
  • Do not lose the ChampionChip®; a $30 replacement fee will be charged to any participant who fails to return the Chip at the finish line.
  • Chips are not transferable, be careful not to switch Chips with roommates, etc.
  • If you own your own Chip and intend to race with it BE SURE you have notified race registration of your Chip code and turned in your rental Chip.
